Due to rising Covid-19 cases in Coimbatore, all shops except essentials are shut down yesterday.
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore, due to the high number of coronavirus cases, District Collector Sameeran has ordered additional restrictions, including a ban on the operation of jewellery and clothing stores on Saturdays and Sundays, apart from essential shops such as dairy, pharmacies and vegetable shops in 44 areas of the Coimbatore Corporation.
Due to overcrowding in the area along the NH Road, Town Hall, Crosscut Road, 100ft Road, Oppanakkara Road, Ramamurthy Road, Saramedu Road, Rice Mill Road, NP Itteri Road, Singanallur Signal to Ondiputhur flyoverall shops except vegetable shops are banned from operating on Saturdays and Sundays.
Accordingly, todaythe roads are deserted without any traffic as shops other than the essential shops are closed.
