Consultation meeting on Vinayagar Chaturthi procession held in Valparai

As Vinayagar Chathurthi Visarjan is banned, a consultation meeting with Hindu organisations and headed by Valparai inspector Karpagam.


Coimbatore: A consultative meeting was held at the Valparai Tahsildhar's Office regarding the procession of Vinayagar Chaturthi and the worship of idols in Valparai, Coimbatore district. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Tahsildhar Senthilkumar of Valparai. Valparai Police Inspector Karpagam headed the meeting. Religious processions have been banned due to the coronavirus spread.

Permission to install idols in public places or to celebrate the festival in public places is denied in connection with the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival. The public was asked to celebrate in their homes as the statues were not allowed to be taken in procession and dissolved in water.



Individuals are allowed to keep and worship Vinayagar idols in their homes and go as individuals and dissolve in nearby water bodies. Sekar, Jayan, Sundarraj, Press Secretary, Hindu Munnani, on behalf of the Hindu Munnani, addressed the meeting. A large number of organization executives, including Anbalagan and Selvakumar, were present on behalf of the Bharat Sena organization.
