Raghunath is a film producer from Coimbatore Racecourse. He is also a member of the DMK. He had already lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Department alleging corruption of up to Rs 1,500 crore against former minister SP Velumani. Meanwhile, anti-corruption police raided more than 40 places in four districts, including Chennai and Coimbatore, Of places belonging to SP Velumani, his relatives and friends.

He has again lodged a 150-page complaint with the Anti-Corruption Office in Kavundampalayam regarding corruption in the local government sector in Coimbatore and other districts. The Chief Minister further said that the petition should be brought to the notice of the people and stern action should be taken against those who looted tax money.
