Pollachi Sub-Collector inspects gravel quarry in Kinathukadavu amidst public complaints

Public around the region reported that the groundwater levels and the farmlands subsequently have been affected due to the quarry for the past year.


Coimbatore:Thackerey Subham Gnana Dev, Sub-collector, Pollachi inspected gravel quarry in Kinathukadavu after complaints were raised stating affectation of agriculture in the area.

Dilip, Kerala runs a quarry in Govindanayakanur village under the Chokkanur Panchayat near Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore. Public around the region reported that the groundwater levels and the farmlands subsequently have been affected due to the quarry for the past year.



The residents blocked and protested stating the damages were caused in their houses, such as cracks, due to the operation of the quarry. Pollachi Sub-Collector Thackeray Shubham Gnana Rao today personally inspected the quarry, inquired the owner, and verified the documents.

He then conducted an inquiry with the owner of the quarry and verified the documents. He issued a temporary ban on working of the quarry until investigations complete.



The study was attended by a large number of revenue officers and farmers including KinathukadavuRegional Officer Sasirekha, Kinathukadavu PoliceInspector Senthil Kumar and Village Administrative Officer Madhukannan.
