Coimbatore: A man who was cleaning a septic tank atSNS College of Engineering near Saravanampatti in Coimbatore suddenly fainted and died. Police have registered a case and are investigating. Alagarsamy, 66, from Saravanampatti, has been working as a drinking water treatment operator in a SNS engineering college for the last 8 years.
He was engaged in cleaning the septic tank along with his wife's younger brother Udayasuriyan on the college campus last evening. Then Algarsamy went down into the tank to clean. Udayasuriyan went to fill another tank with water. When he arrived a short time later, he saw Alagarsamy's body floating in the tank. Kovilpalayam police have filed a case based on the complaint lodged by Udayasuriyan and are investigating if he died of a heart attack or poisoned gas.
