Coimbatore: Congress cadres staged a demonstration in front of the post office near the Coimbatore Collectorate on Friday condemning the hike in the price of gas cylinders.

The Union Government of India had revised fuel and gas cylinder prices that led to protests in various places across the country. The price hike especially in Coimbatore was raised from ₹.870 to ₹.890, which as of today is ₹.900.

5000 petitions were mailed by the cadres to the Prime Minister of India citing that the price hike was steep for most households.
