The party handed their petitions to the District Collector urging for their requests regarding privatisation to be sent to the President of India
Coimbatore:Dravida Tamilar Katchi members met Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran and sent their petitions to the President of India, opposing the privatisation of Government sectors in India.
The party members handed their requests to the Collector to prevent privatization of Government institutions. Various government sectors are privatized and are under lease for private sectors.
Hence, the Dravida Tamilar Katchi members protested against the move and handed over a copy of the petition to the District Collector holding the ‘Thiruvodu’ (the begging bowl) and then carried them on their heads. Their unique protest created a stir at the Collector’s office.
