Coimbatore: Education officials announced the names of 25 teachers from Coimbatore district who have been nominated for the State Best Teacher award.
The best teachers are awarded the National Best Teacher Award by the Central Government and the State Best Teacher Award by the State Government.
The State Best Teacher award will be presented to teachers who have excelled in this academic year, on September 5 to commemorate Dr. Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary which is also celebrated as Teacher's Day. Vying for this award will be the best working teachers from all over Tamil Nadu who have been selected. The names of 25 teachers from Coimbatore have been nominated and a list has been prepared and sent to Chennai.
Education officials said, "Teachers ought to have worked for at least five years to receive the State Best Teacher Award. There are various other terms too included to qualify for this award and keeping all these criteria in mind, a list of 25 teachers in Coimbatore district has been prepared and sent to Chennai. Eligible teachers will be selected for the award."
