Two men arrested earlier were charged under Goondas Act by Saravanampatti Police for drug peddling

The Saravanampatti Police had petitioned the city's Police Commissioner for imposition of Goondas Act for the two men who had been arrested for drug peddling.


Coimbatore:Arjun and Karthik of Singanallur were arrested recently by the Saravanampatti Police for being involved in a series of drug peddling incidents in the rural areas of Coimbatore.

Inspector Kandhasamy, Saravanampatti Division had petitioned for the two men to be charged under the Goondas Act which was approved by Deepak M Damor, the Commissioner of Police in Coimbatore, on Thursday.

Following the order, Arjun and Karthik were arrested under the Goondas Act and charged with various other pending robbery cases. The Police Department has warned that those involved in drug peddling will be charged under the Goondas Act.
