By-election works gear up in Pollachi South Panchayat
Coimbatore: TNRural local body elections were held in 9 districts including Coimbatore in 2019 in Tamil Nadu. The government decided to hold by-elections to the vacant posts.
Deputy Regional Development Officer Senthil Kumar released the voter's list at the Pollachi south union office yesterday. Following this, the list was put on for public display. The by-election will be held for the post of President of South Kumarapalayam and Dewansapudur Panchayat Head in Pollachi area, 4th Ward in Poligoundanpalayam Panchayat and 6th Ward in Zamin Panchayat.
There are 2,962 voters in South Kumarapalayam Panchayat, including 1,421 male voters and 1,541 women. Diwansapudur Panchayat has a total of 8,556 male voters, 4,140 male voters, and 4,415 women voters. Similarly, there are 182 men and 94 women in ward 4 of PoliGoundanpalayam. There are a total of 634 voters in Ward 6 of Zamin Muttur Panchayat, including 313 men and 321 women, union officials said, adding that the inclusion of names in the electoral rolls can be amended till the election is announced and nomination papers are filed.
