Coimbatore: A woman tried to kill herself at the Collector’s office today after her attempts to get their land back failed.
Peter and his sister Jessie, live in Pillaiyarpuram, Kuniyamuthur. They had filed a complaint earlier at the Kuniyamuthur Police station regarding encroachment of their land.
Another person living in the same area as theirs has abducted their land, which the duo wanted back. They put a petition at the grievance box at the Collector’s office.
Both the attempts forsaken, the woman tried to kill herself by setting fire on herself.
Many visit the collector’s office to place their petitions, or there would be protests going on. Anyone who has to enter the collector’s office is put through intense checking.
Jessie tried to light herself up during the checking at the office. The racecourse police took them to the police station and are interrogating them.
