CCMC Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara personally visited and inspected schools and development works in West Zone, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara personally inspected schools and development works in the west zone of Coimbatore Corporation on Wednesday.
He inspected Coimbatore Corporation West Zone, Ward No.11 KK Pudur Corporation High School since schools were reopened for Classes 9 to 12 from Wednesday onwards. Classrooms, computer room, electricity, drinking water and toilet facilities in the school were inspected to check if they had been cleaned and maintained in order. He instructed students who come to school to sanitize their hands, always wear masks and observe social distancing.
The CCMC Commissioner also told the school teachers that classes should be conducted on a rotational basis. The staff involved in the work at the schools were instructed to keep the school clean. This was followed by an inspection of the state-of-the-art equipment set up to monitor the water level in the tank, the amount of water distributed from the tank and the water pressure in the pipes 24 hours a day under the 24- hour drinking water project in the 20 lakh capacity overhead reservoir on DB Road, R S Puram. Later, Raja Gopal Sunkara personally inspected the quality, measurement and diameter of the gravel laid for the construction of the tar road at Ward No. 21, Sowdeswari Nagar.
During the inspection, City Engineer A Lakshmanan, West Zone Assistant Commissioner Sivasubramanian, Chief Engineer Parvathy, Assistant Chief Engineer Hemalatha, Assistant Engineer Kamalakkannan, 24 Hour Drinking Water Management Consultant, Committee Chairman Gopalakrishnan and Corporation officials were present.
