CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the work done by frontline field workers in the Central Zone of Coimbatore Corporation.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara, inspected the work being done by field workers in the Central Zone of Coimbatore Corporation, the treatment methods offered at the Urban Primary Health Centers, the schools in the Corporation and the vegetable market.
He inspected the Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone Ward No.50 Tatabad Health Inspector office and discussed with the field staff who visit people door-to-door and perform tests for colds and flu. These people are also tested for Coronavirus infections and if diagnosed, are taken to a hospital for immediate treatment. The CCMC Commissioner instructed the workers to carry out their tasks efficiently and to ensure people with colds, flu and cough should be diagnosed and to also enure everyone in the house are tested.
He asked them to wear a face mask while doing field work and to sanitise their hands frequently. In addition, the Commissioner asked the workers to instruct the public to dispose of useless plastic items in their homes to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. He said that the public should be made aware of the need to cover the water tanks in their houses with mosquito nets.
He inspected Ward No. 51, Gandhipuram, Kalingarayan Street, CDM and conducted an inspection at the Primary Health Center. He inspected the outpatient records and Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy scheme beneficiaries. He inquired about scanning facilities in the centre and asked the doctors and nurses about Covid preventive measures.
Following that, the CCMC Commissioner inspected the vegetable market at Gandhipuram, Srinivasapuram under ward no.51. He inspected the area to ensure merchants and customers wore masks, followed social distancing and the Government's Covid guidelines.
Later, he inspected the Corporation School with regard to admission of students and then inspected the computer room, laboratories, electrical facilities, drinking water facilities and toilet facilities, and asked the staff and teachers about the sanitisation work being done in the classrooms. He told the staff involved in the work there to keep the interiors and surroundings of the school clean. Later, he also visited the cattle operating facility located at Sathy Road under Ward No. 52 and inquired about its activities.
City Engineer A Lakshmanan, Assistant STH Officer Dr. Vasant Divakar, VOC Zoo Director Dr. Senthilnathan, Central Zonal Assistant Commissioner Parvathy, Executive Engineer Prabhakaran, Zonal Health Officer Thirumal and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
