Coimbatore: Students in Coimbatore were overjoyed to finally step out of their homes and into their school campuses to resume classes. The Tamil Nadu Government had announced that all schools in Tamil Nadu will resume classes for grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 from September 1 onward.

Students in Coimbatore schools were sent to class after having their body temperature checked and ensuring that strict social distancing and sanitising of hands were adhered to at the entrance of the school campuses. All students had to compulsorily wear masks.

Even as students eagerly made a beeline for thier schools since 8 am on Wednesday morning, teachers were instructed to conduct classes by strictly adhering to all the Covid-19 safety norms and restrictions of the Tamil Nadu government.

A total of 259 schools and 100 colleges reopened in Coimbatore. Only 20 students are allowed in each class.
