Schools had been compulsorily closed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic that ravaged the country.
Coimbatore:Even as the Tamil Nadu Government signalled the green flag for reopening of schools across the state, schools in Valparai reopened on Wednesday, September 1 after a long one-year gap owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Over 500 students entered their respective school campuses overjoyed to be back at school.
Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 resumed today, with students admitted to the Government Men's High School in Valparai as per the guidelines announced by the Government. Students had to sanitize their hands at the school entrance, their body temperature was checked using a thermometer and students were sent to their classrooms after cross-checking with the attendance register. Students were also instructed to strictly wear face masks and adhere to social distancing.
