Valparai Boys' High School preps up for reopening after long Covid-19 break

Disinfection and sanitation works speed up as schools reopen on Wednesday after a long break owing to Covid-19 pandemic.

Valparai: The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the past year and a half has left in its wake devastation across the world, and disrupted normal daily routines for people everywhere. Children and youth were also hard-hit since educational institutions remained closed.

Though technology came to the rescue through online classes, both students and parents have longed for normal classes to resume in person. With the pandemic wave seemingly on the decline due to the untiring efforts of the medical fraternity, the Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi announced the reopening of schools for classes 9,10,11 and 12 after consultation with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin.

With schools all set to reopen on Wednesday, September 1, after a harrowing break of 17 months, the mood at the Valparai Boys' High School is upbeat. The school and campus has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for resumption of physical classes from Wednesday. As per the Education Minister's orders, children will be monitored within the campus. Lessons are expected to resume in full swing once students psychologically adapt to the change in environment.
