2-month old baby drowns tragically in a bucket of water in the bathroom

In a tragic but bizarre incident, a two-month old baby drowned after reportedly being dropped accidentally by 3-year old sister in the bathroom.


Coimbatore: Police are investigating the tragic death of a 2-month old baby girl who was reportedly dropped by the 3-year old sister accidentally in a bucket of water in the bathroom.

Vivek Raj (29), a civil engineer from Malumichampatti, Ambal, Pollachi Road, Coimbatore lives with his wife and two daughters. His wife was washing clothes at home on Monday when their two-month old baby girl Sri Neeta had reportedly urinated and was taken by their 3-year old elder daughter into the bathroom to be cleaned. The 2-month old baby reportedly slipped from the little girl's hands and fell into a bucket filled with water.

The agitated mother ran and picked up the baby from the bucket and rushed her to a private clinic in Sundarapuram but was informed that the infant was brought dead. Vivek Raj lodged a complaint at the Chettipalayam police station. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
