Coimbatore: A search team of Forest Department and Fire Department officals continued their intensive hunt for the second day in search of Sriram, a fourth-year medical college student who had been bathing in the Sedal Dam along with his friends when he was reportedly washed away on Sunday.

Sriram had visited Valparai with his friends and was last seen touring the Sholayar Dam area in Valparai in Coimbatore district.

After visiting the Sholayar Dam area, the students are said to have gone bathing in Sedal Dam and were playing there when Sriram reportedly drowned. The friends reportedly informed the police immediately.

Following this, the police and fire department teams have been on a two-day long search operation.

The team has also been scouring the forest area since the Sedal Dam water flows into the Parambikulam dam.
