Coimbatore: Workers in Valparai have thanked the union leader for offering a pay rise to tea plantation workers. In Valparai, Coimbatore district, the government of Tamil Nadu recently announced a long-awaited pay rise of Rs. 425.40 per day for plantation workers. Following this, the plantation workers are very happy and thanked the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Led by DMK ward secretary Paul Pandi of Pannimedu First Division near Valparai, more than 30 workers met at the office of LPF union leader Kozhikkadai Ganesan and presented him with shawls.
Coimbatore South District DMK Youth Deputy Organizer Magudeeswaran, South District Adi Dravidar Welfare Committee Deputy Organizer Vadaikadai Kutty and Tamilselvan were also present at the event.
