To mark the 75th Independence Day of the country, 15 soldiers of the Central Police Force have launched an awareness cycle ride from Kanyakumari to Rajkot in Delhi titled 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava'.
Coimbatore: CRPF members cycling from Kanyakumari to Rajkot, arrived in Coimbatore to celebrate the 75th Independence Day.
They came to Coimbatore and were given a special welcome on behalf of the Rotary Club Spectrum. To mark the 75th Independence Day of the country, 15 soldiers of the Central Police Force have launched an awareness cycle ride from Kanyakumari to Rajkot in Delhi titled 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava'.
The cycling tours, which started on the 22nd, will cover 2850 km from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and will reach Delhi Raj Fort on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
In the meanwhile, a group of cyclists arrived in Coimbatore. A reception was held for the CRPF soldiers who arrived in Coimbatore on behalf of the Rotary Club of Spectrum. Training Center IG Satish Chandra Varma welcomed the players with a bouquet. Children's cultural shows followed.
Rotary District Governor Rajasekar Srinivasan was the special guest at the event, which was chaired by Rotary Club of Coimbatore Spectrum President Pavik Mumiya.
The function was attended by executives Murali Balakrishnan, Sampath Kumar, Arul Kumaran, Muthu Kumar, Nishit, Subramaniam and many others including Mahesh Kumar, Senthilnathan and Sellaragavendran.
Fifteen players from the Coimbatore Training Center continued their journey. More than 100 men, women and children from cycling groups in Coimbatore rode bicycles for up to 30 km on behalf of the Rotary Club of Spectrum to encourage traveling riders. The group will leave Coimbatore for Bangalore, Karnataka.
