1.5 lakh got 2 doses and 75 thousand have one dose left
Coimbatore: Almost 5 lakh people work in the manufacturing sector in the Coimbatore district.
Most of these workers suffered as there were shortages of vaccines in the city. Intensive efforts of the Collector Sameeran made available vaccines by allotting them especially for this sector, which has resulted in most people getting both the jabs and almost half getting their first jab.
Karthikai Selvan, General Manager, District Industries Centre stated that “The joint efforts of the Collector and the District Industries Centre has resulted in one lakh 55,000 workers and, many people have been vaccinated on behalf of the government, both in PHCs and private centers, according to our records”

M V Ramesh Babu, President, Codissia stated that “Most workers have their due for 2nd jab in the month of September. We have raised the query to the corporation to avoid any issues”
