Coimbatore: The government of Tamil Nadu has allocated funds to provide loans to farmers. The farmers however are having trouble in receiving them as the procedures have changed.
Their next request was to make arrangements for necessary veterinarians to treat cattle from the Foot & Mouth disease.
They also demanded immediately action on those who construct borewells next to their farming lands, as they reduce the groundwater level in the agricultural lands.
“We also request to grant us permission to feed sheep and cattle in various areas adjoining the forest area of Coimbatore district including Ardhanari Palayam, Manjanaikenur, Angalakurichi, Sethumadai, Puliyangandi, Karadimadai, Madhukarai and Mettupalayam.”
Farmers state the expenses have increased as they feed their cattle and sheep as they are denied permission to graze at the adjacent fields
