Anti-food smuggling unit head-constable and sub-inspector were caught for accepting a bribe amount of ₹.2000 from the dealer.
Ayyapan filed a case with the anti-bribery department, which sent the money with chemicals on them. Rajkumar was caught red-handed by the anti-bribery department police led by Additional SP Divya, who was hiding and monitoring him.
Later, police raided his office and his house in Papanayakenpalayam. SI Irulappan was also arrested for his alleged complicity in the chief constable.
Both of them underwent a medical examination at a government hospital last night and were produced before Coimbatore court this afternoon and jailed.
