Police have arrested three people, including a woman from Coimbatore, who forged signatures like a sub-inspector to get a new one to replace a missing one.
Coimbatore: Police have arrested three people, including a woman from Coimbatore, who forged signatures like a sub-inspector to get a new one to replace a missing one. Sangeetha, a resident of SIHS Colony, Singanallur, Coimbatore, was trying to get a new document as the original documents were missing.
Rajendran from Kuniyamuthur and Manokaran from Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore approached her at the time and suggested that a fake document could be prepared. Following her consent, Sangeetha's land deed and documents were set-up as though it was reported missing at the Illuppur police station in the Pudukkottai district and its proof was forged with the signature of Sub-Inspector Balamurugan, who worked for the last few months, and submitted it to the office of the Kinathukadavu Registrar.
The registrar who checked the documents had sent the documents to the Illuppur police station by post to find out the truth. Egmore Police Inspector Usha Nandini was shocked to see this. Sub-Inspector Balamurugan, who is said to have signed the documents, was not on duty at the Illuppur police station at present and it was revealed that his signature had been forged and the police station stamp had also been forged.
Sub-inspector Rex Stalin and police led by Inspector Ushanandini conducted an intensive investigation. Sangeetha, 41, Manokaran, 42, Rajendran, 47, of Singanallur, were arrested and produced before the Egmore Magistrate's Court. Later Sangeetha was lodged in Trichy Jail. Manokaran and Rajendran were lodged in Aranthangi Jail. An investigation is underway to determine if anyone else was involved in the incident.
