College students, trans people join hands to give Covid Awareness, Road Safety Rally
Coimbatore: College students, trans people join hands to give Covid Awareness, Road Safety Rally through Aval Oru Thodarkadhai, Vizhithiru Part 1 campaign program in Gandhipuram.
Karunya, took charge as the president of Rotract Club of Coimbatore, Cotton City yesterday and several students took charge under various positions in the club.
As their first program, the club conducted an awareness program on road safety and Covid protocols which witnessed participation of various college students and transgender people.
The program was held at the Gandhipuram town Bus stand.
The campaign was named Aval Oru Thodarkadhai Vizhithiru part 1. The campaigners grouped into 5 each, held pluckards with social awareness slogans and spoke about the importance of traffic rules and the covid protocols.
The team also distributed saplings to those who followed all the rules properly.
The program ran between 11 am and 2 pm. The awareness program was organized by Rotract Club of Coimbatore Cotton City Volunteers and Trans Mom Foundation.
The club president Karunya stated that they have planned a year-round program and will be training trans people on art, literature, Tamil culture, music, and folk art.
The trans people will be trained by the club on various other personality and responsibility-building skills.
