Leaflets distributed by Pollachi DMK thanking Chief Minister for implementing a law to make people of all castes in Tamil Nadu as priests

TN CM lauded in Pollachi for initiating a law that empowers people of all castes in Tamil Nadu to become priests in temples; Leaflets regarding the project distributed in Pollachi.to create awareness


Coimbatore: The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin has announced a plan to usher in a law that people of all castes can become priests in Tamil Nadu similar to the state of Kerala.

The announcement has been been well received and welcomed by most people. DMK, MDMK and Congress cadres in Pollachi thanked the TN Chief Minister for ushering in such a plan after 50 years, in Tamil Nadu.



On behalf of all parties, including DMK, Coimbatore District Officer, Dr. Varadarajan and Communists cadres created awareness among the public about the announcement and distributed leaflets containing slogans to the public and traders.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Varadarajan said, "Periyar had saidthat all castes could become priests 50 years ago and now it has been legally implemented by Chief Minister M K Stalin. This way, all the people can go to the temple without any inequalities or discrimination. Those who have completed the 'priesthood course' can undertake priestly duties.

The plan emphasizes that the project is not against the Brahmin community and that all castes can do any profession including that of being priests," reiterated Dr. Varadarajan. He also thanked the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on behalf of all sections of the people for such a brave initiative.
