Coimbatore: The Marxist Communist Party State Secretary, Mutharasan addressed the media at the party office on Thursday.

He raised questions on the 25 bills passed in the Parliament in spite of the Parliament session being postponed. Key party functionaries were present during the media briefing.

“The issues of the Farmers' Act, fuel hike and Pegasus are yet to be discussed. And yet the Union Government is abusing its power and democracy," he alleged.

A people’s parliament is to be held from August 23 to 27, condemning the government’s activities by the CPI party in about 5000 locations. The program will witness the hoisting of the national flag, the appointment of a Speaker and a discussion on the happenings under the Government. Additionally, a small book is to be released which is priced at Rs.5 which states the activities of the Government. 5 lakh copies of the book is to be circulated.

Mutharasan explained that he had raised questions on the Delhi protests which were still on, but Minister L Murugan had responded saying that the Government did not cause trouble to the farmers by passing the Farmers' Act.

Mutharasan also questioned how the suspects in the Kodanad issue could commit the heist without the backing of the Union Government. "The news released on the issue were just predictions and prejudices. Why would the ex-Chief Minister fear if he is innocent?” Mutharasan also stated that he was not afraid of anything and that it was the culprits who were sending subtle messages to everyone just by their behavior.
