Coimbatore: Even as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid homage and floral tributes on Friday to his father and former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi on his 77th birth anniversary, Coimbatore Congress cadres gifted 20 gold rings to babies born on August 20 at Coimbatore Government Hospital.
A blood donation camp was also inaugurated under the leadership of the party's State Chief, Mayura Jayakumar in which members of the Congress party donated blood. Earlier, sweets were distributed at the party's Coimbatore district office at Kamaraj Bhavan.
