Coimbatore: 60 students have been selected for the Kamarajar Foundation scholarship in Bharathiar University.
The Kamarajar Foundation was established by the State Government at Bharathiar University at a cost of Rs. 25 lakhs. Of this, the interest money received is provided to 15 students annually who excel in education from all government, government-aided, university member and university in four categories. Accordingly, 60 students who are eligible for the year 2020-21 have been selected on the basis of their marks. Permission has been obtained from the University to provide Rs. 2,770 to each student.
The University administration has said that the scholarships have been delayed due to the closure of colleges owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, but will be disbursed soon.
