Some in India have been celebrating the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan on social media. The Tamil Nadu intelligence has sent information to the Central Intelligence Agency that some people in Tamil Nadu are commenting in support of the Taliban.
The intelligence agencies are investigating five specific social accounts in Tamil Nadu. In Coimbatore too, the social media posts of a few people are being monitored by the Special Intelligence Unit and the NIA. In Coimbatore, NIA officers raided and seized laptops and CDs at more than five locations that were already linked to the ISI terrorist organization. In the Kanagamalai area of Kerala, 6 ISI supporters were arrested. Following this, documents were seized during a search in Coimbatore.
Three people were arrested in Coimbatore. NIA sources said, "Youths operating in support of ISI in Kerala and Coimbatore have been arrested. Thus, information is currently being collected and tracked on the social media accounts of individuals in Coimbatore and parts of Kerala, their opinions, and who they are following are being monitored. Anyone who registers illegal comments will be prosecuted. Over the past few years, NIA officials have placed more than 15 people in the surveillance ring in Coimbatore for recording comments in support of the ISI organization."
