Tirupur City Police Commissioner launches State's first Electronic Patrol App to prevent crime and accurately monitor police patrols in Tirupur

Tirupur: The Tirupur City Police Commissioner, V Vanitha launched an app called 'E-beat- Electronic Patrol App at the Tirupur City Police Commissioner's office on Wednesday to accurately monitor police patrols, and to prevent crime and take precautionary measures. She reiterated the usefulness of the electronic patrol app for the police force after flagging off the patrols.

The Tirupur North and South police divisions are divided into 23 patrol areas and two policemen are deployed on a rotational basis 24 hours a day, in each area. Police officials sign patrol books that are kept in key areas including banks, ATM centers, residential areas and shopping malls. An electronic patrol app has now been introduced to upgrade the process.

Patrol officers can scan the QR code placed on behalf of the police at key locations through a processor in their mobile phones. Also complaints from the public in the area to the police control room should be immediately reported to the patrol officer in the area. He says police officers in adjacent areas can be kept alert and they can monitor so that the perpetrator cannot escape easily.
