He slammed the BJP government highlighting issues like fuel price hike, Pegasus, Farmers' Law etc. and opined that the BJP Government was simply inciting religious sentiments through their Jan Ashirwad Yatra.
“The Central Government offices and railways stations will be blocked by the end of September. We insist on permission being granted for the 23rd State Conference to be held in Madurai to discuss on vaccine preparation. The State Government too should take steps to make jobs permanent for the employees," reiterated K Balakrishnan.
He further added that the Government of Tamil Nadu had announced a study committee to protect small scale industries and that the committee should immediately speak to the entrepreneurs and resolve their legitimate demands. "We demand amendment of rules for the elections to be held in the month of December to directly elect the posts of Presidents in the Municipality, Town Panchayat and also that of the Mayor of Municipal Corporation," emphasized K Balakrishnan.
He addressed the media saying, “The corruption cases filed on the AIADMK ministers has to be scrutinized immediately and so also the Kodanad issue. The opposition electing L Murugan of the BJP as Union Minister is an internal decision of the party and I have no say on that. The Government should not represent or encourage caste-based politics which happened during the reign of AIADMK. It was the BJP who did not allow Parliament to function.
The 900-crore expenditure stated in the report needs clarification and also it is not so good on the part of the government to eavesdrop on the privacy of people and hence the BJP government is obliged to answer all the questions thrown at them by the opposition parties and not just disturb parliament proceedings. Also, the policy of not using a vehicle for more than 15 years would lead to the purchase of a new vehicle from corporates and that shows that Prime Minister Modi is not acting as the Prime Minister of the country but as an agent of corporate agencies ," slammed K Balakrishnan.
