Reduction of Stamp duty and Registration fees is need of the hour for Construction Industry growth says, CREDAI

Industrialists from construction industry sector have stressed the need of reduction in stamp duty and registration fees. They have also opined that Tamil Nadu government should push entrepreneurs to establish more IT parks and Data centres in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Industrialists from construction industry sector have stressed the need of reduction in stamp duty and registration fees. They have also opined that Tamil Nadu government should push entrepreneurs to establish more IT parks and Data centres in Coimbatore.

Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India (CREDAI), Tamil Nadu, Secretary, D.Abhisek said, 'The announcements made by the state government in the Revised budget 2021-22 is welcomed. Establishment of Coimbatore and Madurai development corridor is a welcome move and needs to be implemented soon which would help in the overall growth of the state. Weare happy to note the interest of the government machinery to expedite this work in the interest of the people.'

'Urban Infra Development for Tamil at Rs 8,156 crore with ADB assistance. New Urban Development Authorities in Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruppur and Hosur. Slum free Tamil nadu by 10 years. Housing sector strengthening with World Bank. Fintec cities at Nandambakkam and Kavanur Rs 165 cr in phase1. Tidel Parks in tier 2 and 3 towns.. Coimbatore (PH II), Thoothukudi Vellore and Tirupur. Industrial corridors connecting Hosur, Salem, Trichy and Coimbatore. Use of rapid innovative technology. Automation. Standard Data Books on construction to be revised and updated. Automation from estimation to billing. Houses for poor families in villages are all very good initiative by state government.'

'The Revised Master Plan for Coimbatore is pending for more than 25 years. New Master plan for Coimbatore and rest of Tamilnadu is need of the hour. Airport plays a vital role in the city and the nearby regions overall growth. Tamil nadu government should complete the land acquistion process soon and hand it over to the Airport Authority Of India which would help to implement the Coimbatore International Airport Expansion scheme. We are looking for the government to reduce registration charges and GST with input tax credit(ITC).'

Past Chairman, Rajesh D Lund said,'Greater Development Authority for Coimbatore, Tiruppur is a long pending request which has now been considered. Planned growth of these regions will be very good. We were expecting reduction in stamp duty and registration fee. Construction industry play a vital role in the state infrastructure development works. Hence we hope the government will consider our request and reduce the Stamp duty and Registration fees soon. This will give a boost to the Industry. Government should push Entrepreneurs to establish more IT parks and Data centres. At present data centres are seen mostly in Chennai only. Hence establishing new IT parks and Data centres at Coimbatore is must. Announcement on Defence parks and Industrial Estate projects in Coimbatore are welcomed.'
