A free vaccination camp against Covid-19 was held at Sri Lalithambika Amman Temple in Thadagam, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: A free vaccination camp against Covid-19 was jointly organized on August 15 by the city's Sri Lalithambika Foundation and Erode's Abirami Kidney Care Hospital at Sri Lalithambika Amman Temple on the occasion of the Sri Dayananda Saraswati Swami's birth anniversary. No fees were charged from the beneficiaries who attended this vaccination camp. Earlier in the morning, the founder and Swamiji of Sri Lalithambikai Amman Temple, Coimbatore inaugurated the vaccination camp in the morning and delivered the inaugural address.
Doctors who were special guests at the vaccination camp were Thangavelu, Dr. Saravanan and Dr. Purnima Saravanan. Dr. Thangavelu delivered an awareness talk on Covid-19 and the importance of vaccination to all those who had assembled to get vaccinated. He was followed by Abirami Kidney Care Hospital's Director and Chief Physician, Dr. Saravanan who spoke on creating awareness that people with kidney ailments and those undergoing dialysis can also be vaccinated.
The camp was attended by residents of Veerapandi, Chinna Thadagam, Periya Thadagam and Kanuvai area. 200 beneficiaries who participated in the camp were vaccinated with the Covishield vaccine. Senior citizens were given priority and vaccinated at the camp. In addition, patients with heart and kidney problems were properly screened and vaccinated.
The vaccination camp was also attended by Purnima Saravanan, a specialist doctor at the Women's Care Hospital, who provided medical advice to the women attending the camp and helped them get vaccinated.
