Coimbatore: Over 200 cyclists participated in the bicycle rally held in Coimbatore on India's 75th Independence Day to raise awareness about diabetes.
It was attended by children and adults to create awareness about diabetes. The rally was organised by Coimbatore Western Valley and the Lions Club as a campaign launched to raise awareness about diabetes.
The 100 km cycling event started from Puttu Vicky Bridge and covered Perur, Pachapalayam, Madampatti, Thondamuthur, Coimbatore Kutralam Sadivayal and ended at Puttuviki J P Farms. The enthusiastic 200 cyclists who were part of the rally comprised children, youth and even the elderly. The rally was flagged off at 5.30 am. Awareness leaflets on diabetes were distributed during the cycle ride.
