Boat house that cost many crores in dilapidated condition in Valparai

Demand for soon completion of dilapidated boat house works at Valparai which cost many crores and did not come into use!

Coimbatore: Steps have been taken to develop the tourism sector in Valparai, Coimbatore district to improve the economy. As a part of it, the traders had demanded to set up a botanical garden and a boat house on behalf of the Valparai municipality. This was followed by a botanical garden near the Valparai Public Works Office and a boat house on Stanmore Road. Following the announcement of the election in April last year, this was hastily launched before completion and the Botanical Garden is still under construction.

Other projects in the boat house have been put on hold. Due to this, the boat house is stinking with sewage. The multi-billion rupee boat house works have been put on hold and are in a state of disrepair. The public and social activists have demanded that the work be completed as soon as possible and that an alternative plan be put in place to prevent litter from entering the boat house.
