DMK Environmental Wing Secretary requests Minister of Environment to garner support of the Government to treat the effluent being discharged in the city's Ondipudur area and use it for agriculture.
Coimbatore: DMK Environmental Wing Secretary Karthikeya Sivasenapathy in a press release stated, "We have requested the Minister of Environment, Siva V Meyyanathan to seek the approval and support of the Government to treat the effluent being discharged in the city's Ondipudur area and use it for agriculture.

He heard about the proposal for almost 30 minutes and promised to come directly on August 20 to visit the project. The Environment Minister said that he was ready to hold a consultation meeting with environmental organizations in Coimbatore and participate in it.

I also assured him that the conference would be organized by DMK's Environment Wing."
"The use of wastewater for agriculture is currently the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu and we requested our Union Government to take it up as a scheme which will greatly benefit farmers," added the DMK Environmental Wing Secretary in the press release.
