Coimbatore: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCIC) has issued a statement welcoming the Tamil Nadu Budget for 2021-2022 presented by Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for Finance, today in Chennai.
Establishment of Coimbatore Metro Rail Project, responsibility for setting up Defence Industrial Park at Coimbatore at the cost of Rs 225 crore and formation of Greater Coimbatore Development Authority - the long pending dream of people of Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCIC) has issued a statement welcoming the Tamil Nadu Budget for 2021-2022 presented by Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for Finance, today in Chennai.
On behalf of members of ICCIC and people of this region, we thank the Chief Minister M K Stalin for presenting this budget with some innovative measures and announcements.
We sincerely thank the CM M K Stalin for reducing Rs. 3 per litre for petrol. This will certainly give relief to the middle class people and reduce their financial burden", read the statement issued by C. Balasubramanian, President of ICCIC.
Despite the Government's commitments to spend a lot for COVID-19 Welfare Relief Measures, keeping in mind the welfare of people of Tamil Nadu, the budget has been well-balanced, he commended.
The following are the features highlighted by ICCIC in TN budget
- Establishment of Coimbatore Metro Rail Project in consultation with Central Government.
- Announcement that the Tamil Nadu Government will take the responsibility for Defence Industrial Park at Coimbatore at the cost of Rs 225 crore.
- Formation of Greater Coimbatore Development Authority - the long pending dream of people of Coimbatore is realized.
- There is no need to change the name in the Ration Card for getting Rs. 1000, since the amount is payable for Housewives.
- Allotment of Rs. 5421.41 crores for road works and bypass roads to be laid for 59 Municipal Towns and allotment of Rs. 17,899.17 crores for Highways Department - we hope Coimbatore to Karur Expressway will be taken up for execution.
- Provision of free uniform to the students of 1st to 8th Standard.
- The assurance that Government will take measures to bridge the learning gap cost by the Pandemic and Lockdown.
- Provision of Rs. 500 crores for Road Safety Scheme.
- Announcement that 200 lakes will be upgraded at the cost of Rs. 111.24 crores.
- Implementation of underground drainage facility in 27 cities where 1 lakh population of people.
