A special Velwi Puja was held for Goddess Pratyangira at the Shiva Temple located in the premises of Arulmigu Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple in Valparai on the eve of Aadi Pooram.
Coimbatore: A special Velwi Puja was held for Goddess Pratyangira at the Shiva Temple located in the premises of Arulmigu Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple in Valparai on the eve of Aadi Pooram.

Special anointings were held at the Arulmigu Sri Subramania Swami Temple in Valparai, Coimbatore to pay homage to Goddess Durga at the Shiva Temple. Earlier Gomatha Puja was held and it was followed by yagas. A special puja was held for Goddess Pratyangira. Following this, bundles of dry chillies offered by the devotees were poured into the Yaga Kund. The women worshiped the goddess and sang songs. Following this, anointing ceremonies were held to adorn the Goddess Pratyangira. Vermillion and flowers were offered to the devotees by Annathanam. It was attended by a large number of devotees.
