A complaint has been lodged with the Valparai Police regarding Valparai Municipality Commissioner by female computer operator for refusing to sign a letter by coercion.
Coimbatore: A complaint was lodged with the police that a female computer operator working in the Valparai Municipality was assaulted by the Valparai Municipality Commissioner.
Sumita Sree has been working as a computer operator in Valparai Municipality since last September. It is reported that her salary has been paid only for two months with an outstanding for 10 months.
On Wednesday morning, the Municipality Commissioner Suresh Kumar reportedly called Sumita Sree and asked her to give him a letter stating that she had received the full salary for a year. Sumita Sree refused and asked for her salary arrears of 10 months. The Commissioner denied her request and demanded a letter from her stating that she had received her full salary.
Sumita refused to do the needful which reportedly led to the Municipality Commissioner scolding Sumita Sree with inappropriate words as well as threatening to terminate her. It has been alleged that Sumita Sree fainted when she was forcefully pushed out of the office.
The public rescued Sumita Sree and admitted her to the Valparai Government Hospital by calling for the 108 ambulance. She is being treated at the hospital and has also lodged a complaint at the Valparai police station regarding the injustice meted out to her by the Valparai Municipality Commissioner.
Sub-Inspector Murugaiyya met her at the Valparai Government Hospital, received the complaint and is reportedly conducting further investigation into the matter.
