Cases filed against 199 AIADMK members including MLAs in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Police have registered a case against 199 people, including AIADMK MLAs and former MLAs, for obstructing raid of former minister SP Velumani's house in Coimbatore yesterday. Anti-corruption officials have been conducting raids at more than 60 places owned by former minister SP Velumani and his close associates since yesterday morning.
Of these, it is evident that no documents were found in the homes of many. Similarly, police said that no documents were seized from SP Velumani's house and only one locker key was seized. Earlier, Coimbatore AIADMK MLAs and party executives and volunteers gathered in front of SP Velumani's house after learning of the raid including MLAs Amman Arjunan, PRG Arunkumar, Damodaran, KR Jayaram, AK Selvaraj and Mahendran,
Heavy police security was put in place there. A case has been registered against 187 people, including Anandan, Kandasamy and former MLAs Kasturi Vasu, Yeddyurappa Shanmugam and OK Chinnaraj at the Kuniyamuthur police station including Amul Kandasamy and M.S.M. Case has been registered against 12 AIADMK members for allegedly preventing government officials from working.
