Pollachi rape case: AIADMK leader Arulanantham's bail plea dismissed in Pollachi sexual assault case; Judge orders to close case in 6 months and also appoints officer to aid CBI
Coimbatore: AIADMK Pollachi City Student Wing Secretary, Arulanantham had been arrested and jailed under charges of sexual assault of several women in what was widely known as the Pollachi rape scandal that rocked Tamil Nadu in 2019.
He had filed a petition seeking bail in the High Court. The Coimbatore Mahila Court judge has dismissed the bail plea and also ordered for the case to be completed within six months.
In order to assist the CBI investigation, CB-CID SP Mutharasi has been appointed to aid the CBI investigation. The Chennai High Court has directed the Coimbatore Women's Court to complete the daily hearing of the Pollachi sexual harassment case within 6 months.
The Chennai High Court Judge, M Dhandapani has given various suggestions in the Pollachi sexual assault case which has caused a great stir. He ordered for case to be completed expeditiously within six months and appointed the CB-CID SP official to assist the CBI investigation.
