Coimbatore district SP Selvanagarathnam received a tipoff that a youth was selling ganja illegally in Pollachi. Following this, a special police team patrolled the Anaimalai area. Mohanraj (33) of Meenakshi Puram, who was standing near Alangadavu at the time, was caught and interrogated.

On examination, it was revealed that he had 1 kg 500 grams of ganja. Following this, the Special Forces arrested him and handed him over to the Anaimalai Police. The first phase of the investigation revealed that Mohanraj had illegally bought ganja from Kerala and sold it in the Anaimalai area. Following this, the Anaimalai police registered a case against him and arrested him.
