Coimbatore: The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a raid on the residence of former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani since early morning on Tuesday and also simultaneously raided the house of former Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation, S Madhuranthagi who worked in Coimbatore alongside S P Velumani and is currently working as a District Revenue Officer in Tirupur.

50 premises in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Dindigul owned by the former Minister S P Velumani was also raided based on allegations that he had abused his office and misappropriated contracts worth Rs. 464 crores in Chennai and Rs. 347 crores in Coimbatore.
More than 10 policemen led by Karur Corruption Eradication Deputy Superintendent of Police, Natarajan went to Sathasivam's house in Chinnakampatti Puthur early on Tuesday morning and began the search. Vincent, the Grama Niladhari of Chinnakampatti was also present during the raid at Sathasivam's house. The raid caused a stir in the Ottanchattiram area.
