The protest led by Vinod Kumar, general secretary of the LPF union in Valparai and the meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Kozhikadai Ganesan, AITUC taluk secretary Mohan, Viduthalai Siruthaigal Veeramani, MDMK union leader Kalyani and Congress city president Baby.

Leaders of all party unions held party flags and chanted various slogans during the protest, urging the people and workers to condemn the rise in petrol and diesel prices, the rise in GST prices and the affecting farmers' livelihoods.

The protest was attended by LPF union executives, CITU executives and union executives from the State Transport Corporation.
