Rs. 20 lakh worth of ganja seized near Palladam

Tirupur: Palladam police received a tip-off that a large quantity of ganja banned by the Government was stored in a house in Chinnigavundampalayam near Palladam, in Tirupur district.


Tirupur: Palladam police received a tip-off that a large quantity of ganja banned by the Government was stored in a house in Chinnigavundampalayam near Palladam, in Tirupur district.



Following this, the police led by Palladam Inspector Balasundaram and Sub-Inspector Vijayakumar raided the house. Police seized 20 kg of ganja worth about Rs. 20 lakh. and arrested Jagaband Naik (28) from Odisha and confiscated Rs. 5,000 from him.

He was later lodged in the Tirupur branch jail. The seizing of Rs. 20 lakh worth of ganja bundles near Palladam has shocked locals in the area.
