Kinathukadavu Fire Dept. rescues man who fell into 60-feet well at Chettipalayam near Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Badrakalimuthu (38) of Chinnaiyan Chettiar Road, Chettipalayam near Coimbatore was sitting on the edge of a well near his home on Thursday evening when he accidentally fell into the 60-feet deep well.


Coimbatore: Badrakalimuthu (38) of Chinnaiyan Chettiar Road, Chettipalayam near Coimbatore was sitting on the edge of a well near his home on Thursday evening when he accidentally fell into the 60-feet deep well.

Though his family tried to rescue him, it was to no avail. Badrakalimuthu grabbed the rope and tried to stay afloat to avoid drowning.

The Kinathukadavu Fire Department was immediately informed and the fire brigade led by Kinathukadavu Fire Station Officer, Kalimuthu rushed to the spot.

They let down a rope into the well and rescued Badrakalimuthu who had sustained minor injuries to his arm and leg. He was then taken in an ambulance by the Fire Department to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical treatment. The public lauded the Kinathukadavu Fire Department officials for their prompt rescue and saving a life.
