10 sovereign chain robbed from Covid-19 affected woman: Police in search of PRO of Muthu Hsopital
Coimbatore: Police are investigating a woman who came in for coronavirus treatment and was allegedly robbed of 10 sovereigns of jewelry. Veerakumar (55) and his wife Shanthi (45) from Ramanathapuram were admitted to Muthu hospital in Saravanampatti on May 19 and were treated till May 24.
After May 24, Shanti was transferred to the intensive care unit. She took the 10 sovereign gold necklace she was wearing there to the nurse there and told her to keep it safe.
The nurse gave it to the hospital's public relations officer. He kept it in his desk drawer. When the woman asked to return the jewelry the officer refused. Veerakumar lodged a complaint with the Saravanampatti police and the police are investigating.
