COVID-19 infection rate reduces in the Coimbatore Corporation area

Coimbatore: The coronavirus epidemic in Coimbatore corporation area has decreases from 70% last month to 55.91% now, bringing great relief to the people.

In Coimbatore district, more than 3,000 people are affected by coronavirus infection every day. The death of more than 30 patients per day had created great panic among the people.

Thus, wartime immunization activities were carried out on behalf of the corporation in urban areas. With rapid action, the impact of corona spread is gradually reduced from 70 percent to 55.91 percent.

A district administration official said, “In Coimbatore district, 70 per cent of those diagnosed with coronavirus infection last month were from the Coimbatore metropolitan area. But, at present, only 55.91 per cent of the corona victims are in the corporation area.

This is followed by Sulur with 8.75 per cent. Sulur is the second most affected area after Coimbatore. Valparai has the lowest incidence of the disease in the district. Here only 0.31 percent are confirmed infected.

The infection is declining due to the continuous action taken by the corporation administration under the guidance of the Government of Tamil Nadu. However, people must continue to follow all corona rules.”
