MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin declares open CREDAI Coimbatore's Covid Care Centre with O2 support.
Coimbatore: The increasing number of COVID 19 cases in Coimbatore has resulted in a large number of people requiring hospitalisation with oxygen support. The DRO had requested Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI), Coimbatore to set up a COVID Care Centre, so that recovered patients can move over to a step-down facility with Oxygen support.
Accordingly, CREDAI Coimbatore has worked on a war footing and created a first-of-its-kind facility with 200 oxygen beds at the Government Arts College Campus. Each bed has been provided with piped oxygen facility. The treatment centre has been establishedby CREDAI Coimbatore at a cost of Rs 2 Crores along with support from various sponsors.
Doctors to treat patients at the centre will be provided by Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Additionally, the proximity of the Government Arts College campus to the hospital makes it an ideal location to pump in more doctors or to shift patients for advance care to the GH.
The facility was inaugurated today byUdhayanithi Stalin, MLA and Youth Wing Secretary, DMK in the presence of R Sakkarapani, TN Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, K Ramachandran, TN Minister for Forest and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, TN Minister for School Education.
According to Gugan Ilango, President CREDAI Coimbatore, "CREDAI Coimbatore has always been committed to social causes. We are glad to provide a fully equipped infrastructure with oxygen support which is the need of the hour.”
Commenting on the initiative, D Abhishek, Secretary, CREDAI, TN, said that the basketball court and auditorium were converted to meet the new requirements. Surender Vittal, Aravindh, Rajiv Ramasamy, Kalpesh Bafna of Coimbatore CREDAI coordinated the arrangements, he added.
CREDAI has been supported by M/s Acsen and other donors in putting up this facility.
